Chrome Extension (Draft)

An unpacked MV3 extension for sending highlighted contractor quote text to the web app. Never submitted to the Chrome Web Store.

Status: draft, internal. No app, plugin, connector or extension has been submitted to ChatGPT, Claude, the Chrome Web Store, the Apple App Store, Google Play or any other marketplace, and none has been approved. The web app is the product; everything on this page is a distribution experiment that is not live.

What it does

Highlight quote text in an email or a web-based estimate, right-click, and open it in Contractor Quote Check. It is a shortcut into the web app, not a second product.

Status and privacy warning

Draft, unpacked, loaded manually by a developer. It has not been submitted to the Chrome Web Store and has no listing, no reviews and no users.

Privacy warning: selected text is sent to the web app to be analysed. Do not use it on documents containing information you would not paste into a website. The extension reads only what you explicitly select — it does not watch pages, does not read your mail, and stores nothing.

Publishing checklist (all owner-gated, none done)

  1. Owner approval to submit — not granted.
  2. Developer account and registration fee — not created.
  3. Privacy policy URL and data-use disclosure — not published.
  4. Icons at 16/32/48/128 px — placeholder.
  5. Final host permissions narrowed to the production domain — pending domain.
  6. Store listing copy reviewed for claims — not written.
  7. Support contact address — not configured.

Build artifact

A local zip can be produced for manual inspection with venture-build-contractorquote-chrome-extension. That script builds a file on disk and nothing else: no upload, no submission, no network call.

Customer data rule

Contractor quotes contain names, addresses, phone numbers and prices. No customer data should be sent through an AI app, plugin or connector until a privacy policy and account terms covering that data flow have been reviewed and approved. That is why the tool server currently binds to loopback and has no public route: it cannot leak what it cannot receive.
